Moses, not Darwin, by Bennett George Johns 64496 [Subtitle: A Sermon] [Link: http://www.gutenberg.org/6/4/4/9/64496 ] [Files: 64496-0.txt; 64496-h.htm] For those wishing to know: February 12th is Darwin Day and this is one of a number of pamphlets I've found related to Darwin. Rev. Johns was chaplain of the Blind School at Southwark (south London), and preached this in 1871, the same year as Darwin's Ascent of Man was published. Clearly Darwin was a total shock to Johns, who insisted that man was totally different from the animals, and his entire theology rested up it. He doesn't mention Darwin in the pamhplet, nor does he attempt to disprove evolution etc. It's one of many responses to Darwin's book. All the best, David England with a bit of snow, but most melted
