In 1864 the mania for building railways in London had hit its peak and everyone and their dog was planning them - Parliament had to form a special committee to get through the workload. Kensington Vestry (who administered the civil Parish of Kensington, West London), had James Broadbridge prepare a report for them as to what was being proposed for Kensington, and how this would affect the parish. Some of these lines did get built, although the parish was more "rural" at that time, so it wasn't complete demolishion... All the best, David, England, cold and a storm approaching
