The War with Russia, by John Alfred Langford 60791 [Subtitle: Its Origin and Cause] [Link: http://www.gutenberg.org/6/0/7/9/60791 ] [Files: 60791-0.txt; 60791-h.htm] For those wishing to know: Britain and others were involved in the Turkey / Russia war in 1855 when the famous British politician John Bright argued that Britain should not be involved. That incurred a major public backlash of which this pamphlet is just one of many. Langford argues that Bright was deliberately mis-representing the origin of the war, in order to support his (unpopular) theory. However, it's written for people who know the detail of what was going on at the time, and it might be better to read up some background before reading it. All the best, David, Rather damp England with large puddles
