Welsh Poems and Ballads, by George Borrow 54851 [Editor: Ernest Rhys] [Link: http://www.gutenberg.org/5/4/8/5/54851 ] [Files: 54851-0.txt; 54851-h.htm] For those wishing to know: George Borrow was a polyglot who was familiar with over 40 languages, and who had a early love of the Celtic languages such as Irish and Welsh. This is a collection of his translations from those languages (plus a few of Borrow's own poems) that was made many years after his death by Ernest Rhys who was a keen lover of Borrow. Some of the works had not been published, and were published here for the first time. Gutenberg note: the book has a very distinct look with yellowed paper and occasional red lettering: it was also a small print run and copies are scarce and expensive. I've therefore mimiced the look of the book a bit in the Gutenberg eBook. All the best, David, England, where it's been heavy rain all day, with a cold wind blowing: i.e. summer.
