Over the past weeks we've started getting spam comments on our Facebook page and I have been removing them and baning the senders. This is new as I've hardly gotten any spam comments since I started my tenure. Just an alert for you to keep your eyes open on anything you might moderate. Paul

Website slowness returns

We've been working with iBiblio since Friday to try to figure out why www.gutenberg.org is so slow. Today, Saturday, it's often timing out and is pretty unusable. This the same problem we've been having off and on for a couple of months. I put a notice on the main page: Website slowdowns. The website has been slow and sometimes unresponsive since Friday January 12. We are working with iBiblio, our hosting provider, to remedy the situation. Problems might persist throughout the weekend. Apologies for this disruption. Unfortunately the iBiblio folks don't offer much weekend support. I've been trying to press them to figure things out but without much luck. ~ Greg Dr. Gregory B. Laura, you might already be getting these notifications. I've seen 50 "follower" notifications over the past 24 hours, and am now getting a new follower notification every few minutes! Clearly you are doing a great job of keeping things interesting! It looks like we have 16K followers. That's super! ~ Greg

Facebook account problems?

Is something wrong with our Facebook account? I can't upload a post as I get a "something went wrong" error message. This happens with Chrome, Firefox, Brave and Safari, all on the Mac as well as on a Chromebook. If I try it on my iPad with the Business Suite app I get a "there was an error fetching data" message. This has been going on for about 4 days. Tried logging out and in but no joy. I have a backlog of posts up so we're OK for a while but this is most disturbing. Paul
