Dear colleagues: Please see below a suggestion made by Lisa (Leebot) at DP´s forum: Linking to Bluesky #1 Post by Leebot » 14 Nov 2024 17:30 Hi PGers! Since many Twitter/X users are leaving in droves, flocking over to Jack Dorsey's other creation (Bluesky Social), I am wondering if PG could be sure to add a "share button" on the various book main pages? Thank you! Lisa I wonder if it's possible to add a share button for Mastodon as well. In addition, Eric already implemented news feeds of news books at Bluesky. It'll be nice to have them at our website, see below: News feeds at Bluesky <https://bsky.app/profile/new.gutenberg.org> Thanks for considering it. Laura

bibrec pages already have a Mastodon share button. I doubt a Bluesky share button would be much work, especially if was replacing twitter so that no redesign would be involved. Jack Dorsey provided some funding for Bluesky but has no involvement any more.

Adding Bluesky seems worthwhile. We still have a lot of followers on the X thing, so I'm not in a rush to discontinue posting there. Of course many of those followers are now inactive. ~ Greg

I see your point Greg but I have not been posting at X for almost 2 years already. It wasn't easy to deal with harsh comments on a daily basis, believe me. Laura Em qui., 6 de mar. de 2025 às 17:17, Greg Newby via socialmedia < socialmedia@lists.pglaf.org> escreveu:

Yes, understood & agreed. We still automatically post new book announcements. I don't see a need to discontinue those. ~ Greg On Thu, Mar 06, 2025 at 05:26:03PM +0000, Laura N wrote:

We stopped posting to X because they don't allow bots on free accounts.

I didn't know that. I have included the new books feed in every monthly newsletter for many years. The Twitter link is still at the bottom of every static web page on https://www.gutenberg.org. I'll remove that link, since there haven't been postings in several years. ~ Greg
