For those wishing to know: in the 1870's London had a very large and very 
varied "religious life".  Ritchie gives a guide to what was happening, 
covering everything from the Jews to the Greek Church, Seventh-Day 
Baptists, Quakers, Irvingites, Spirtualists and so on.  It's all done in a 
readable way.
