  [Note to indexers: The Library of Congress catalog says "Elizabeth Kent"
was a pseudonym but does not provide the author's real name. The only clue
I found was a statement on several web sites that George Ernest Rochester
(1898-1966) sometimes wrote under the name of "Elizabeth Kent," but mostly
in the 1950's.  Rochester would have been about 14 years old when this
book was published, and thus he seems unlikely to be its author.]
