The original illustrations by John Everett Millais for the first publication 
(serial, 1862-4) in the _Cornhill Magazine_ and the Smith, Elder 1864 first 
edition have been added (18 full-page illustrations and 19 quarter-page 
vignettes). In addition, numerous corrections have been made.
