For those wishing to know: In a very short pamphlet the Rev. Edward Hoare 
explains why he thinks the original clerical subscription (the requirement 
for Church of England minister to agree to an extra set of beliefs) was 
not a good thing, originated from the state not the church etc.  It was a 
pamphlet of its time as Parliament was considering changing things, and 
Hoare didn't want them going in the "wrong direction."
