Slater's [1859] Shropshire Directory, by Isaac Slater 60729

For those wishing to know: a few archives in England have this and give it
a date of 1856, which is certainly when Isaac Slater and his staff were
compiling it. However, no printed edition has been found bearing that
date, but the text is identical to that published in a 1859 collection by
Slater. It was part of a whole series of directories, each county
separately number, presumably so you only needed to buy the ones that
covered your area of interest. It's an invaluable snapshot of the county
of Shropshire, England, around 1856, giving the trades people and gentry
of every the smallest villages, some general history etc.
All the best,
David,
Rather damp England which is starting to freeze
