For those wishing to know: Thomas Rickman was an expert on church 
architecture in the Victorian period, and these are some notes he made but 
never published on his thoughts on Chester Cathedral.  The Rev. Canon 
Blomfield (of Chester Cathedral) put the notes togeter and provided and 
introduction.
