For those who are interested, this book is a collection of letters
written by Stuart Walcott, an American, while he served as a combat
pilot for the French in World War I. His last letter was written on
December 8, 1917. Four days later, just after downing a German plane, he
was shot down over German-held territory.

Thanks,

Joe
