For those wishing to know: it's a short biography of Col. James Gardiner 
(1688-1745) who had progressed in his military career but led a 
"hell-raising" life.  He eventually had a vision, converted, and became 
known as a pious soldier.  The famous full biography, by Doddridge, is 
already in Gutenberg, so this adds a shorter version told from a slightly 
different standpoint.  It was published in the early 1800's.
