For those wishing to know: this is the autobiography of a Suffolk man who 
whilst he never achived fame, did work for George Borrow at his estate at 
Oulton, and as such the book provides insights into Borrow's life there. 
Bickers is also an interesting character and whilst his life may lack 
incident it's a very charming read.
