For those wishing to know: May 1, 1859 was appointed as a day of 
thanksgiving to God in Great Britain as a result of the suppression of the 
Indian rebellion.  Many churches had special sermons and this is one 
preached in Kensington, near London.  The area was home to many retired 
military and ex-government people so perhaps the tone was guessable, but 
Rev. Wright felt the whole of the Indian problems were caused by the UK 
not trying to eliminate Islam and Hinduism - it's a very unconfortable 
read but shows middle class views in the area at the time.
