I have a copy of the above book, published by Doubleday, Doran & Company, Garden City, New York, 1928, copyright Edgar Wallace, 1926, 1927. The title page also has "Scotland Yard Edition" at the top. The book is missing the leaf containing pages 175 and 176. (Page 174's last line is "wall before he ventured inside."; page 177's first line is "just in time; something whizzed into the room and".) If anyone has this book, I'd appreciate receiving scans of the missing pages. (jpg, 300dpi, black/white or grayscale, will be fine.) Thanks, Al

When I tried to (carefully) scrape away the residue, the whole residue flake came free and took some of the book's paper with it, along with the printing.

Dostoyevsky--The Idiot

I've read through the whole text of "The Idiot" as found on PG as #2638. This claims to be a translation by Eva Martin . While reading, I noted various errors. Some were clear ocr errors, with an and some I have things I'd like to look up in the original. Comparing the text, it seems _very_ close to the 1887 Whishaw translation, found on Google books. http://books.google.ca/books?id=tCgVAAAAYAAJ I suppose it is possible that she took the earlier translation and just changed a few things. I cannot find the Eva Martin translation on Google Books or at a library in my city.. It should be from 1914 or 1915. Would someone be able to find it and do a quick spot check to see if it matches the text on PG? --Andrew

I have a copy of the Henry Frowde, Hodder and Stoughton, 1914 edition. It has a very odd mis-print. A number of the leaves have text on one side, but the other, which should have the previous or next page's text, is blank. The problem leaves: 225-226 - 226 is blank 227-228 - 227 is blank 229-230 - 230 is blank 231-232 - 231 is blank 233-234 - 234 is blank 235-236 - 235 is blank 237-238 - 238 is blank 239-240 - 239 is blank If anyone has access to an unflawed copy of this book, I'd appreciate receiving scans of the blank pages. My copy of the above book was published and copyrighted by The Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1913. I discovered while scanning it that it was missing two leaves - the ones for pages 3 and 4, and pages 53 and 54. Can someone who may have this book provide me with images of the missing pages? Thanks, Al
