One of the things I did with my RST file was to include a cover image, like this:
.. meta:: :PG.Id: 9999 :PG.Title: A Study of the Bhagavata Purana :PG.Rights: Public Domain :PG.Producer: Bhakta Jim :PG.Credits: This file was produced from page images at the Internet Archive. :DC.Creator: Purnendu Narayana Sinha :DC.Title: A Study of the Bhagavata Purana or Esoteric Hinduism :DC.Language: en :DC.Created: 1901 :coverpage: images/bhagap_cover.png
There really is a bhagap_cover.png file in my images directory. However, the file does not get included in the EPUB archive. I do not refer to this file anywhere in the HTML. I definitely include it in
I checked several of my RST-based projects with Firefox's epub plug-in, and all show the source book's cover artwork. My question would be, why would you *not* include the cover art, as you would any other illustration, in the main body of the RST file? -----Original Message----- From: gutvol-d-bounces@lists.pglaf.org [mailto:gutvol-d-bounces@lists.pglaf.org] On Behalf Of James Simmons Sent: Saturday, April 07, 2012 6:05 AM To: Project Gutenberg Volunteer Discussion Subject: Re: [gutvol-d] Possible bug in epubmaker Jana, Well I tried changing the cover image to a JPEG but it still did not get included in the EPUB: http://epubmaker.pglaf.org/cache/20120407054945/ James Simmons On Sat, Apr 7, 2012 at 1:16 AM, Jana Srna <jana.srna@gmail.com> wrote: I don't know about RST, but if you want to include a cover image with an HTML e-book, it has to be a jpg, not a png. I'm guessing it would probably be the same in RST, since I think it's a limitation of either epub or mobi or some readers or a combination of these.
