I go to PG. I open any of the txt files in firefox. Q: Is the result something in practice that is useful to actually read? A: No it is not. It is "too unwieldy" to try to read PG txt files this way.
you'll need to tell us _why_ the .txt files are not "useful" for you to read, so we can evaluate what you're saying. for instance, i find lines that are up-to-80-characters-long are simply too wide for me... i like lines that are shorter... much shorter... ;+) -bowerbird p.s. but the point of the point that i was making is that the maximum number of machines that can show an e-text is obtained _if_ you pre-wrap the lines... if you have an argument against _that_ point, you would be on-topic...

The font that comes up is too small. The lines are clipped and do not display the right end. The line lengths are too long. In summary firefox sucks at displaying txt70 files as do other HTML browsers. point that i was making is that the maximum number of machines that can show an e-text is obtained _if_ you pre-wrap the lines... if you have an argument against _that_ point, you would be on-topic... The topic, actually, is "Talking about TXT" which I was doing so I think you had better find something else better to whine about in my posting -- and I am sure you will do so.
"...machines that can show..."
should read "Machines that can show the left half of the txt."
