The Annual Report on the Health of the Parish of St. Mary Abbotts, 62066
[Title: The Annual Report on the Health of the Parish of St. Mary
Abbotts, Kensington, during the year 1874]
[Author: T. Orme Dudfield]

For those wishing to know: as Kensington, London, grew in population
during the 19th century so did the sanitary issues. Medical officers were
appointed and Kensington was very lucky to T. Orme Dudfield, who wrote
this report, who was very good at his job and his reports were often held
up a model for others. It's a mine of statistics but also there's reports
on what was done during the year (such as fining for having a diseased cow
carcase, vacination of children and the cleaning up of the Iron Foundry).
All the best,
David
England, clouded over but warm, thunderstorms expected
